Slovenia goes to the quarterfinals for the first time in history, since our team beat Australia in 1/8 finals, game final result 87:58. Congrats to all players and coaching staff for a great performance . Boki scored 7 points and had 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. Next game will be on Wednesday at 20.00 CET against Turkey.

FIBA WC 2010: Slovenia beat Iran, next stop Australia

Slovenia beat Iran at the last game in preliminary round and took the 2nd place in the group B. Final result 65:60. Boki scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds and 1 steal in 28 minutes. Next stop is Australia; our team will play Eight-Final game on Sunday at 17.00 CET. Congrats to our guys for great results in preliminary round

FIBA WC 2010: Slovenia in Top 16!!!

Slovenia achieved 3rd win in the group and goes to the Top 16. Our team beat Brazil in Game 4, final result 77:80. Boki scored 15 points, had 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 24 minutes. Congrats to our guys for a great win, next game will be today 18.00 CET against Iran .

Brazil vs. Slovenia: Be aware of the euphoria

Our national team will play Game 4 tonight at 20.30 CET against Brazil. This will be another hard game in group B, since Brazil almost won the last game against USA. Boki (the biggest fan of Slovenian audience in Istanbul) and his teammates are aware of the euphoria, because there is a lot of work to do…

FIBA WC 2010: We did it again, Slovenia beat Croatia

After one year at the European championship, Slovenia once again beat Croatia, this time at the World Cup in Game 3, final result 91:84. Boki scored 11 points, had 5 rebounds and one assists. Congrats to our guys for a great important win , tomorrow is a day off, next game will be on Wednesday at 20.30 CET against Brazil.

FIBA WC 2010: Slovenia’s loss changes nothing, next stop Croatia

Slovenia lost game two at the world championship against USA, final result 77:99. All the players fought well and show no fear. Boki was the best scorer in our team with 13 points. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and had 1 steal. No matter what congrats to our guys Next game will be tomorrow at 15:30 CET against Croatia.

FIBA WC 2010: Slovenia strongly over Tunisia

Slovenia did the good start, since they beat Tunisia in game one with high result 56:80. Our head coach gave everyone an opportunity to play, Boki scored 14 points, had 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Congrats guys !!! Next game will be tomorrow at 15.30 CET against USA.

FIBA WC 2010: Game 1 - Tunisia vs. Slovenia

World Championship is here and our national team will play the first game against Tunisia, tomorrow at 15.30 CET. Today our guys did two practices in Abdi Ipekci Arena. You can watch this game on FIBA TV.

Boki’s World Championship 2010 Diary #6

Hello!

Last week we played last three preparation games. It was during a tournament in Athens. We beat Canada and lost vs Serbia and Greece. We were all shocked after we saw what happened in the game between Greece and Serbia. You rarely see that kind of fight on the basketball court…
Last few days before the World Championship we spent in Kranjska Gora. We were working on details in our team game and trying to get everyone healthy. After a off day on Wednesday we met again yesterday. It was at the airport Ljubljana where we did our last press conference before taking off to Istanbul.
We are staying at the hotel that is actually only about 200m away from my apartment here in Istanbul. I know this area well and in a way I kind of feel like being at home. All the teams except USA are staying here.
Yesterday we already had our first practice here. The arena seems ready. We can’t wait for the first game to start. As always, we are going to have a lot of Slovenian fans. They will be loud like they always are! We can’t promise to win every game, but we can promise that we will give our 100% best each and every time we step on the court! Go Slovenia !!!!!!!!!!!!
