Hey!

In the 2nd week of preparation we stayed in Ptuj. As soon as we arrived there on Monday, people from Basketball Federation and Telemach had a surprise for us. They organized a private show called "Cefurji raus" for us. I had the intention for a while to read the book with the same title, so I was really excited to see this famous play. We had lots of fun. The author Goran Vojnovic gave us his signed book as a present. It was a great evening.

Tuesday we continued with practices. The gym in Ptuj was extremely hot, much different from the one in Rogla. Wednesday we had our first game vs Macedonia. Just before the game Beno Udrih announced that he won’t participate in WC 2010. It was a big shock for all the guys on the team. I don’t want to comment too much on Beno’s decision, I just hope he’ll be back with us next year. I’d like to see fans and media focus on players who are here and proudly wearing Slovenian jersey.

We played two games vs Macedonia. We lost the first one and won the second. To be honest, the result is the least important thing at this point. We’re trying to focus on how we play, what we are doing well and what we need to improve. I have no doubt that we’ll be in perfect shape when the World Championship starts.

Most of the team left to China yesterday to play in a tournament. Jaka Lakovic, Goran Jagodnik and myself stayed in Slovenia practice individualy. I can’t wait to join the team again when they come back!
