At this moment Im on a team bus, driving to Porec, Croatia. We have 2 preparation games over there this weekend. Last week we had an open practice event for our fans. More than 1000 people showed up and it was awesome. Its a great idea to give our fans a chance to see us work in practice. I hope well do it more often.
Over the weekend we played 2 games against Russia. It was a great feeling to play in front of a sold out crowd in Tivoli arena, Lubiana. It really felt like we played in front of the whole Slovenian audience. Last time I played in Tivoli was 9 years ago when I played for Benetton Treviso. Our win made the evening perfect. Although wins are not the most important thing at this stage, I do realize that its hard to hold back our fans, who were very excited after the game. I know they cant wait for the championship to start. Next day we played against Russians again and this time they won. I believe we learned a lot from that loss and I hope it will only benefit us.
After a few days off we decided to visit kids at Pediatric Hospital in Lubiana. I always look forward to such things. We gave out gifts and wished them fast recovery. Its great to have an opportunity to make someones day a little better. Im a big fan of such events. Maybe we even infuenced someone to become a basketball player !
In practices were back at full speed. Everyone is sore and tired. We also have few injuries. Unfortunately thats a part of what we do. I hope those guys recover fast and join the team soon. It would be nice to finally start playing games with full roster.
Our next game is tomorrow against Croatia and one more the day after. Busy weekend ahead of us again... We play in Porec and if you are in the area, you should come and watch!
